An absolutely wonderful continuation of the Landon Saga! I am a huge fan of this family, I love the way they always support each other, even when there's a bit of tension among the family members. This portion of the Landon Saga introduces a new Landon to the mix, whom I hope we get to see more of in future installments. I am also a huge fan of Mr. Cotton's writing style, there is so much true human nature in his characters, the laughter, the joy, and the loss. All true to life things people feel every single day. If you are new to this series, do yourself a favor and start at the beginning with Confessions of a Gunfighter. You won't be disappointed! I loved this book, chalk full of excitement and danger. The people of this era had to be strong and tough just to survive. Great book. CAN'T hardly wait for the next one in the series. Thank you Tell Cotton!
Tell Cotten is a master story teller and his characters are interesting, straight from the old West. Once you read the first book in the series you will be hooked. You will be anxious for the next one to come out. This is good entertainment and interesting reading.
Book 7 had a big cattle drive...book 8 had the big indian fight. Can't get any more western than that. Another good book from author Cotten. Buy it.
Jug-Head, the mule, gets my vote in Tel Cotten's Warpath for best-supporting character. He isn't really a character, but is a nice source of humor. No-Worries, a fierce Apache Chief plots to kill the Landons by kidnapping two of their women. Bad mistake. Delightful reading.
"Warpath" is the 8th book in "The Landon Saga" series. These books are light, entertaining and can easily be read in half a day. If you like Louis L'Amour then you will like these books. In this one an Indian raiding party kidnaps some women so the Landon's will come after them. In a previous book they were responsible for interfering with gun sales to the Indians and they are out for revenge.
Tell Cotten has written another winner in western fiction. He has done so in his unique style of dialogue and humor that reminds this reader of Robert B. Parker (Appaloosa, the Spenser series and the Jesse Stone series of novels). His stories are great and each leaves the reader wanting more. Fortunately for us, this book includes a teaser from the next Landon story. There is more on the way!
This is book #8 in a series featuring the Landon family. While each books stands on its own merits individually, in order to get the full enjoyment of the character development and their interactions, it is suggested that you start at book #1 and enjoy the entire series, all of which are reasonably priced.
I have a feeling we haven't heard the last of No Worries. Well done, Tell. Another quality read.
